Министерският съвет на Република България прие Решение за удължаване срока на обявената извънредна епидемична обстановка, считано от 1 септември 2020 г. до 30 септември 2020 г., съобщиха от правителствения пресцентър.
Пандемията от COVID-19 продължава да представлява тежка извънредна ситуация, свързана с общественото здраве в национален и световен мащаб. По данни на Европейския център за превенция и контрол на заболяванията, към 23.08.2020 г. в света са регистрирани 23 243 621 случая на COVID-19, от които 805 740 починали. От тях 2 037 588 случая или 8,76% са заболелите на територията на Европейския съюз (ЕС)/Европейското икономическо пространство (ЕИП) и Обединено кралство Великобритания и Северна Ирландия, с общ брой починали – 180 642 или 22,42% от всички докладвани смъртни случаи от новия коронавирус.
В България към 24.08.2020 г. са съобщени 15 287 заболели и 545 починали от COVID-19. Броят на потвърдените лица на седмична база отчита тенденция на нарастване, като от седмицата 29.06-05.07.2020 увеличаването на случаите е почти двукратно спрямо изчисления средноседмичен брой. Съществен спад в броя на заразени е новия коронавирус лица е регистриран през седмиците 10-23.08.2020 г.
Удължаването на извънредната епидемична обстановка, свързана с разпространението на COVID-19 на територията на страната, ще даде възможност да се продължи прилагането на противоепидемичните мерки в обществото, за да не се позволи претоварване на здравната система и системата на общественото здраве преди предстоящия грипен сезон.
